Note: The logs show a higher monthly count than the Statistics page because I only maintained a count of the baitfish to determine availability
in any given month.


This Log is not an overall  survey of angling on Goleta Pier. It reflects only those times and the area that I fished ... the kelp reef on the west side of the pier. But it is still indicative of the type of angling experience to be had there. The primary purpose of the Log is to document the numbers and variety of fish existing in the reef prior to the December 31, 2002 groundfish closures. There will be a follow up survey several years from now to measure the success of those closures.
